For many people, Sussex means the seaside resorts of Brighton, Eastbourne and Bognor Regis etc. But those that have the time to stray from the beaches and the main roads will be rewarded with quiet charms that these towns cannot equal: the rolling grassy slopes of the South Downs, the villages nestling in their folds.
